Gregory North

Gregory North has a passion for performing. As a writer and performer of Australian Bush Poetry and yarns (tall stories) he loves to entertain.

Since his first performance in 2003 Greg has gone on to become the male Bush Poetry Champion of Australia in 2008, 2009 and 2010 and is now a regular at many Bush Poetry events. Greg's quirky humour and obvious gift for entertaining are apparent whenever he takes the stage. He also has a wonderful gift for accents, which makes him unique among bush verse entertainers.

Noel Stallard

After thirty five years of teaching in both Primary and Secondary Schools, Noel Stallard resigned in order to take the traditional bush poetry to the young and not so young people of Australia.

At first Noel concentrated on the works of the poet-priest, Monsignore Patrick Hartigan better known under his pen name of John O'Brien because Noel believed this unsung pioneer poet had much to offer modern Australians.

Kite Making and Flying

Children will be able to make, decorate and fly their very own kite as part of John O'Brien bush poetry festival!

Kite making will be held continually throughout the day by Rob King the Kiteman. He will supply small kites that have cartoon pictures and other designs that they can make and colour, and also larger kites that they can draw their own designs on and then colour.

After colouring and construction they will be shown how to fly their new kites safely.

Come along to make a kite and fly it for all to see!

Colin Carrington

Colin Carrington aka 'Mulga Bill' - Aussie Entertainer on the lookout for a good yarn!

Be sure to keep an eye out for him at the John O'Brien Festival!!

King and Queen of Green

The King and Queen rule over the land of Green and travel about, reminding people that we can all make a difference to the planet by doing simple things at home work and school.

Their royal majesties use wacky machinery and scientific demonstrations to help show children that everything we do has an effect on the planet, and that there are simple ways they can make a difference.

During the show they will explore some topics the children can all relate to including transport, energy use, saving water and waste. There are many opportunities for the children to get involved, from getting up on stage or singing along and doing the actions to their environmentally friendly songs.
